BIS holds training for agricultre staff
Hyderabad: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Hyderabad Branch Office, on Wednesday organized a capacity building training programme for officials of the department of Agriculture and Marketing at the Principal Training Institute, Bowenpally, Hyderabad. The programme is aimed to create awareness and enhance understanding of Indian Standards and quality assurance practices relevant to the agriculture sector. Around 65 officials from the districts of Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar, Medak, Sangareddy, and Medchal–Malkajgiri participated in the training. PV Srikanth, Director and Head (Scientist-E), BIS Hyderabad Branch Office, highlighted the crucial role of Indian Standards in ensuring 'quality, safety, and sustainability' in agriculture. He emphasised that the adoption of Indian Standards benefits the farmers, consumers, and the entire supply chain. He urged officials to use only Indian Standard certified products and insist on ISI-marked products during procurement.
